Click several times on each choice!
1. Autumn colors
2. Cold rectangles
3. Green sludge monster
4. John Cage
This is an experiment I worked on from about 8-10 October 2002. It draws a number of random boxes in the banner.
The colors and shapes of these boxes are determined randomly within a lengthy set of parameters I chose.
You can get my program to draw a new pattern by clicking on the links above, or by simply reloading the
page. However, depending on how you have images cached
on your browser settings, you may not notice any difference when you reload.
I guess this is kind of useless, but it was really fun to do, and I learned a lot about php's gd package in the
process. I think the banners are somewhat interesting artistically too. I tried to create a balance between
predetermined and randomized forms.
Of course, the chances of you getting the same banner twice are unbelievably slim, but the choices
above represent four different configurations
of the generating variables so you can see the different possiblities of my program.
Note: If you are on an old version of Netscape (4.x) this will probably not work, unfortunately.
Also, certain versions of Macintosh browsers don't seem to work! Wierd.
